Kansas has finally started developing some "Rails to Trails" systems. I have yet to ride any of them myself but according to the brochure I received from the Kansas Horseman Foundation there are currently 150 miles of trails for non-motorized recreation.

They are :

The Flint Hills Nature Trail (115 miles) running from Herrington to Osawatomie

The Landon Nature Trail (35 miles) running from Topeka to Lomax

The Prairie Spirit Trail (50 miles) running from Iola to Ottawa

The Haskell Rail-Trail (1 mile) running outside of Lawrence
